SELF TAPE GROUP (STG)

Announcing the kickoff of BLACKSTAR FILMS' newest event series, the SELF TAPE DEVELOPMENT GROUP.

STDG is a hybrid in-person and online community which aims to develop the careers of actors based in NYC by discussing self tapes and current events with a supportive group. STDG was started by an actor in Brooklyn who wanted to source the brilliant minds of community and provide support where actors tend to receive it the least. Gathering the first Wednesday of each month online, this group meets with the intent to practice their own unique sense of approach and preparation while receiving feedback about their work. Fostering relationships among actors, building trust while speaking critically, and leaning into authenticity are all crucial aspects to the developing actor. This is a space to hone and master these skills. Self tapes are not posted and we are strict about our sharing content policy.
