Hey There
My name is Annie and my pronouns are they/them. I'm a British-American actor based in Brooklyn. Former horse-girl gay. Southern-born musician and writing every day. Let's connect!
Raised in North Carolina...
Annie grew up in the Carrboro and Chapel Hill area. After school, they spent their time on a local farm. There they competed in hunter jumper horseback riding, winning their first blue ribbon at 5 years old. Annie became inspired to perform after winning this event. They began to write, and organized neighborhood friends as cast and crew for short films. They played with a fiddle troupe which led to an interest in singing, guitar, bass, and ukulele. As a teen, they played for various bands and as a solo music act at venues around the Triangle.
In high school, Annie played tennis and basketball. They won several awards and set several records on their track and field team. After injuring themselves consecutively at the NC Track & Field State Championships, they devoted their time to media. Annie started working as a staff reporter and host on a radio show at WXYC 89.5. They began writing poetry and a passion for photography, making zines with friends.
In college, Annie quickly came out as a lesbian. Slowly, they came out as nonbinary and began to use they/them pronouns. They joined the Sapphires, the all-fem a cappella group and performed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs). They worked on the campus literacy magazine, The Coraddi, and hosted their own radio program on WUAG 103.1. Annie acted, sang, and performed in leading roles while fiddling live and playing guitar in several mainstage productions. They did their first leading role on-screen in a short film for the University of North Carolina's School of the Arts. They began to attend meditation with the Sensory Awareness Foundation and completed their Leadership Training Institute, a two year study in the work of Charlotte Selver.
After signing with their first agency, Annie booked a string of commercials including Harrah's Casino, Asheville, and Outer Banks Tourism. They also appeared in many local music videos before moving to Brooklyn. Teaming up with Authentic Talent and Literary Management, Annie spent several years developing under their guidance. They spent their first year in the city bartending and doing background gigs for HBO Max, Hulu, AppleTV, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, and Peacock. Now signed with Bohemia Group Management and Momentum Talent Agency, they star as “Rex” in Sam's World, written and directed by Lily Lady. This was their feature-length debut which premiered at SLAMDANCE Film Festival in January of 2024. Sam's World went on to win the Professional Narrative Feature award at the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival. They also appear as "Jay" in the feature film Bernard Gets Famous, directed by Raven Angeline Whisnant, set to premiere fall of 2024. They appeared Off-Broadway as "Liam/Sam" in Turning Krasniqi: A Nonbinary Play, written by Jonathan Alexandratos and directed by Mika Kauffman.
In addition to acting gigs, Annie wrote, produced, and directed MEDUSA: A New Musical at Midnight Theatre, an Off-Broadway house in Hudson Yards in October of 2023. They published their first book of poetry, deadagain, in December of 2023. They played guitar for Rob Eberle on season 26 of Wonderama!, hosted by David Osmond, filmed live in Times Square. Their band also played at the Long Island Film Festival, Breaking Sound Showcase NYC, and some unforgettable bars around the city. Annie has modeled for Fashion Week Charlotte, Getty Images, and a filmed art installation by digital artist Gabriel Barcia-Colombo for the grand opening of Grand Central’s Madison LIRR terminal. In addition to the Sensory Awareness Foundation, Annie is also a member of the Ring of Keys Organization and the Dramatist Guild Foundation. In their free time, Annie enjoys skateboarding, chess, drawing, and hanging out with their cat, Lynx.
